WILLESDEN sprinter Lumar Sylvester was in outstanding form as he stormed to the 200m title at the South of England Indoor Championships last weekend.

The 18-year-old College of North West London student was one of four members of the Willesden junior athletics squad to win medals at Lee Valley - and reach next month's national finals.

Sylvester set a personal best time of 22.53 seconds in his semi-final and then shaved a further 0.03 seconds off that as he edged a close final to claim the gold medal.

Annie Tagoe won the silver medal in the girls' 200m (25:07) while, in the 60m, Marylin Nwawullor set a pb of 7.62 to take silver and also leapt 5.49m for bronze in the long jump.

James Okeyemi clinched the Willesden squad's fifth medal with bronze and a pb in the long jump (14.02m).

The group are seeking sponsorship to cover their travel and accommodation costs for the national finals in Birmingham and anyone who can help should contact Pat Fitzgerald on 01895 811 822.
